a voice. an idea. a person.
I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord ’s greatness; let us exalt his name together. I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles. For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing. Come, my children, and listen to me, and I will teach you to fear the Lord. Does anyone want to live a life that is long and prosperous? Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies! Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth. The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. For the Lord protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken! Calamity will surely overtake the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished. But the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. (Psalms 34:1-22 NLT)
I would say the thing I am
Most looking forward to is the fact that I will be with my creator. The way I was created to be perfect and constantly pleasing my God. If I could have that in this world I would give anything for it. But the Devil speaks loudly and it’s difficult for us as a human species to turn our ear from something that sounds so good. Especially when so many people do not know the good news that God does make us new! In Him I’m a new person. That in itself is enough to change me and my heart because I want to live for him now and forever so that when the day comes that I get to be with my father in heaven he will say well done child, my love, my beautiful daughter. No more sorrow pain or crying. Only rejoicing in being with our amazing God who continually blesses us.
We are all born again as we accept Christ into our lives. This means that we cannot remain the same as yesterday. If Christ changed our lives then let him change it. You cannot remain the same person with sin and have a heart full of Christ at the same time. It can be partial, but It will not feel right. To have half a heart for Christ am half a heart of desire to sin. So pray that God opens your heart fully so that it is full of Him instead of our deadly earthly desires. When we have Christ in our heart that’s an everlasting and fulfilling love for all of us that will never fail us.
I think we can all be reminded that evil is constantly lingering and that we must turn away from it. We all need I find that one person that we know will hold us accountable to making the right decisions. To showing that we have chosen to walk in the path God has lain for us. But we all get distracted sometimes and need reminders…
Being in prayer constantly with The Lord is the best way I can think of to lean on him and allow him to make your paths straight. To submit all our ways to him will be a rather difficult thing to do, considering our sinful nature wants to hold on to our ways. Our comfortable ways of being in control are not Gods plan for us though. God has bigger and better plans and when we make room for him by giving up control of something, that’s when we’ll see him setting our paths straight.
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11 NLT)
The things we will face in our life require us to have God’s help in everything. We are not able to do it on our own. Without God’s armor we are nothing, and the devil will beat us everytime.
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! (Galatians 5:22, 23 NLT)
For the next couple days weeks and months I think the most trial-full things I will go through are patience, faithfulness and self control. As I make the move from Texas to South Carolina I can foresee what I think it may look like but only God really knows. I will control what I can and do nothing less than my best to stay focused and on the right path I pray that He strengthens me every day of my life. These next couple months in training help me focus and show me the path that you want me to take on. My ways can never compare to yours and I pray that you just show me when I need to use these gifts you have given to me and open my eyes to a bigger picture of the life you have planned for me.
These verses remind me of a hillsong song that sings break my heart for what breaks yours everything I am for your kingdoms cause… Those are words when I eat the song I am reminded that when we do things wrong our guilt that we feel is because we know we have hurt something. In doing something wrong. Like when you come home and a dog has that I’m sorry look on it’s face before you even see what kind of damage it has done to the house. It’s because it knows it disobeyed its master and feels badly for it. We should pray to see these things before we do them not as rules to follow but because God loves us so much when he sees us heading in a bad direction his heart is broken by it.
To me this answer is simple. Believe in Jesus Christ and what he came here to do for you and I. As I’m learning though it is more difficult to explain this to someone who has never heard the story of Jesus dying or their sins…. It’s something I struggle with and pray that God will give me the right words to say to someone one day that will truly change a persons life. Not just here on earth but for eternity. Dying with assurance that we are going to be with our true father in heaven. A
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45 NLT)
Jesus served no matter the circumstance. His serving was out of love. So I will imitate his serving by praying everyday for the strength to not let circumstances get in the way of serving in any way. No matter what I want to serve because I want to be like Christ so others may see His good works within my actions.
John 16:33 I tell you this so that you may have peace; in this world you will have many trials and sorrows but take heart for I have overcome the world.
Jesus tells us all throughout these verses that we will undergo challenges in the world. We can expect it to be very very difficult to be a follower of Christ in this world because of our troubles and the influence that Satan puts in our lives. But we can be at peace because we know that he took down sin. He defeated death and when he died he laid down his life for the forgiveness of all our sins. So even though it may get rough. Just trust in him and he will get you though it because there is nothing that can separate us from him. Just Trust.
Jesus is the ultimate leader. He was never boastful. He never let what others said about him affect the way he would lead those around him. And he did the unthinkable. Jesus came to show us the way to lead others. By choosing love every time. Instead of giving in and listening to what the devil told him (like he tells us so often) that we can’t do it that it won’t work, to steal, kill and destroy our hopes dreams and beliefs, he chose love. The light of the world shines bright and cannot be put out unless you allow it to be covered… Choose love.
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NLT)
Jesus is the only way. He died and took all our sins with him to Hell. He rose again pure defeating sin, defeating death, defeating anything we have and ever will face. If you feel warn out, burnt out, like you are the only one, or any kind of burden to feel heavy and unloved or unwanted pray about it. Even if you’ve never prayed before. Say simple words just like talking to a friend, because that is what we are. We are friends and children of God. Something as simple as “God, thank you for sending Christ to die for my sins. I pray that your will be done in my life, because your ways will forever be better than any way I can build up in my own mind. Lord blow my mind. Show me the way to be yours.” I truly believe that if you pray words like these or even take my words and use them in your life, and really believe the words for yourself that God will ease your soul. The burden given to us spoken of here in these verses is just what I am choosing to do everyday through posting this. I’m letting my light shine for anyone to read. God has a purpose for all of us and if I can reach someone through a post this simple so be it and praise be to God that He has made me able to shine His light so easily. Let Him be your refuge and relief. Cast your worries and fears on The Lord. He will take you under His wing and guard your heart for you. That’s how much He loves you. He’s just waiting for you, to say Lord I cannot do this on my own anymore and in that instant something will change. Inside you and around you if you allow for it.
